Four Years

Who: John Gaughan
What: Music

Over the last four years I’ve struggled with my mental health…. my emotions, my appearance, my self pity and self worth, the whys and why not’s, the “who am I?”, the “where am I going?” and I wanted and needed to open up but I didn’t know how.

For those who know me know my love for music and my escape through song was the only way I knew how to truly express myself.

For me the stigma has surrounding Mental Health is one of the worst parts of suffering with Mental Health and although so many brave people like BressieRubberbandits and so many more, have spoken up I feel like the conversation has turned into a whisper and so I started writing down my thoughts from the last “Four Years” of my life where I have struggled the most.

For me this is about moving forward, accepting, compartmentalising, understanding and hope. I also hope that this video gives hope to someone else out there.

This video was Shot and directed by the insanely talented Gerardwalshfilmmaker.

Thank you for all the support so far but let’s keep this conversation going, share this with everyone you know!

I have also uploaded my song to Spotify you can check it out here.
