Our final Instagram Live Takeover for #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek: Loneliness in a ‘Connected’ World with Blessing & Katrina.
Blessing Dada from Dublin, Ireland (born and raised), is an award-winning Black-Irish mental health writer, speaker & content creator/blogger, who’s an outspoken passionate activist on various social justice issues, especially on the intersectionality of mental health awareness.
Katrina Blake is a Mum of two living in Dublin, Ireland. She has two postgraduate qualifications in Psychology (PSI / BPS accredited). She has published research on the Online Therapeutic Relationship in Crisis Intervention. Her areas of interest are Trauma-Informed Approaches to Mental Health, Mindfulness, Somatic and Nature-Based Therapies.
With this week is Mental Health Awareness Week and this year’s theme on loneliness, we have the amazing Katrina and Blessing on to chat about why they chose their title topic, the different reasons (often complex) people can experience loneliness, the psychology & systematic issues behind it, meeting people where they are at & what we can do to ease the stigma through different support means.
The key message is: rather than look to only relying on the compassion of individuals, we should also emphasize building compassionate systems of inclusive community care and support.
Support Our Campaign
We rely on the generosity of the public to fund our work and so far together we have achieved great things! Please do continue to support us so we can provide future generations in Ireland with the resources to recognise and talk about their emotions, and equip them to navigate the ever-changing world around them as they grow
