Mind-Reading as part of First Fortnight

mind-reading-as-part-of-first-fortnight

At A Lust for Life, we’re always looking for brilliant book recommendations (and reviews!) for our Book Club. And First Fortnight have delivered on some wonderful recommendations to keep us in books all of January.

Libraries across the country are joining with First Fortnight to shine a spotlight on mental health-related books during the month of January as part of the festival.

From factual texts to brilliant works of fiction and helpful information books, readers will be spoilt for choice as libraries highlight texts that will open up discussion around mental health.

Libraries include braches in Roscommon, Offaly, Monaghan, Kilkenny, Kerry, Dublin, Mayo, Meath, Donegal, Waterford, Sligo, Laois, Galway, Tipperary, but remember every library has a wealth of information, so just ask your local librarian for help!

Below are links to access reading lists which feature contributions from County Libraries and Councils, Children’s Books Ireland, HSE, Jigsaw and Reading Well.

First Fortnight are also looking to create one based on what you think – so if there’s a book title you think should be on our First Fortnight reading list for next year, please email info@firstfortnight.ie with the title, author and why you think it should feature!

And as always, if you have a book you’d like to recommend to us or write a short review of, email editor@alustforlife.ie and share it with us for our book club.

Support Our Campaign

We rely on the generosity of the public to fund our work and so far together we have achieved great things! Please do continue to support us so we can provide future generations in Ireland with the resources to recognise and talk about their emotions, and equip them to navigate the ever-changing world around them as they grow
