It All Works Out Episode 2: Milestones

it-all-works-out

In Episode two of ‘It All Works Out’ we look at the milestones that this year’s Leaving Cert Class missed out on. It’s the simple things we all took for granted; the last day of school, the grad mass, the debs, getting the exams with your friends around you, these simple transitions from secondary school into adulthood are important parts of growing up. This episode allows for a grieving of those missed moments. Luke speaks to Alicia, Conor, Ellen, Sean and Jamesie about what they have missed. We also hear from Chartered Psychologist and ‘The Blizzards’ Bass Player Louize Carroll on how we can overcome this grief.

The six-part series is created by leaving cert students, for leaving cert students: to help the class of Covid19 deal with the uncertainty of their exam year, understand the grief they have faced and will help with the transition into college without the coming of age milestones associated with the Leaving Cert.

Each episode explores different issues, from coping with the unknown, to exploring the opportunity to reform the leaving cert, to speaking with people who took alternative paths to their careers; and is hosted by leaving cert student and Deputy President of ISSU Luke Casserly.

The series features contributions from leaving cert students around Ireland and draws on a team of experts to explore how to cope and move forward in these difficult times. The series sets out to equip young people with both a voice and tools to facilitate their resilience; centering their experience.
