Co-founder of A Lust for Life, Niall Breslin said “It’s so encouraging to see people embody the A Lust for Life message nationwide, and I’m delighted to join everyone at the Cork Airport night run today. Our message is simple, we would like to put mental health on the map, and our race series helps to deliver this message around the country. I’d like to thank Vhi and the Irish Independent, who help to make our run series happen. I have seen first-hand the benefits of running and exercise, and it’s fantastic to see the people of Cork get behind the initiative.”

Speaking at the event, Gearoid Gilley, Vhi Healthcare, said “Vhi is delighted to partner with A Lust for Life and the Irish Independent on the 2016 run series, and would like to thank everyone who has come along tonight to support such a great initiative. This is a wonderful event, encouraging people to use running and exercise to help develop their mental and physical wellbeing, while also raising much needed funds for many worthy causes nationwide as part of the series.”

Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director at Cork Airport said ‘We are delighted to be hosting the event again following our very successful inaugural runway run last year. It is a fantastic initiative that brings runners together from all backgrounds in aid of fundraising for a great cause. We are very thankful of all of the support and assistance received to make this event happen and we hope that all of the participants enjoy this unique experience.

Niall Breslin addressed participants on the principles of A Lust for Life ahead of the race, before they took off around the course, down the runway at Cork Airport.

Race proceeds and fundraising will benefit the Cork City Children’s Hospital Club, local athletics clubs in the area and A Lust for Life.
