Fundraising

A Lust For Life complies with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations Fundraising from the Public (the Guidelines). The basis for these Guidelines is the 2008 Statement of Guiding Principles on Charitable Fundraising that was developed shortly after the Charities Act 2009.

The A Lust For Life Board reviews and reports annually on compliance with the Guidelines.

Annual and Financial Reporting

We prepare our annual report and financial statements in compliance with the Charity SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice under FRS102).

Charities SORP is a Statement of Recommended Practice which sets out how charities should prepare their annual accounts and report on their finances. SORP is an interpretation of the underlying reporting standards and generally accepted accounting practice.

Governance

The Board of A Lust For Life has formally adopted the Charities Governance Code under the Charities Act 2009 and has completed the Charities Governance Code Compliance Record Form. A Lust For Life complies with the six principles of governance, has reached the core standards expected (and in many cases surpassed them) and attained additional standards even where not required.

We work to the highest standards of governance and accountability. This means we are honest and ethical in our work and worthy of the ongoing trust and support of our donors and volunteers. Accountability, transparency and cost effectiveness are vital to us.

We aim to keep our administration costs to 10%, we have two employees and [4] contractors.

We rely on the generosity of the public to fund our work and so far together we have achieved great things! Please do continue to support us so we can provide future generations in Ireland with the resources to recognise and talk about their emotions, and equip them to navigate the ever-changing world around them as they grow.
